Salt Lake Comic Con

Okay, so here’s my report on Salt Lake City Comic Con. For those of my fans who hate to read, I’ve included lots of pretty pictures.

First, here are my books. Man, when I first saw them stacked up like that I thought for sure I’d be filling my carry-on bags with them on the way home.

Next, here’s the badge I got. Look! It says I’m special.

Here’s my setup for signing books. Man, don’t they look great? I just love that cover. From now on, I think all my books are just going to have to be movies as well.

And here’s a wide-angle shot of the WordFire Press booth.  On the left is managing editor (and author) Peter J. Wacks, with writer Sam Knight in the middle and volunteer R. Jon Rock on the end.

Brad and I were there with our first books, both published thanks to Kevin J. Anderson’s WordFire Press. As you can see, Kevin has a lot on his mind. But he’s always happy to talk to fans.

And since fans are what cons are all about, here are some friends of mine who came out to see me and get a copy of my book. Here are Alice and LG, who are old friends from mission days. Alice sneakily paid someone else at the booth for the book even after being told that this one was on me. A clever move, Alice. But the game’s not over.

And here’s Emily, who fought the crowds to get to me on Saturday– just after we sold out. So we took a photo with one of the Kickstarter DVDs of the movie. What a good sport. (Don’t worry, I mailed her a copy from home.)

Thanks to all the friends, old and new, that came out to see me at my very first con. I had a great time, and I hope I can make it again next year.
